This guide walks you through how to invite FXMedSupport to your Twilio account so we can connect it to Cerbo on your behalf.

Overview

If your practice already has its own Twilio account, you can connect it to FXMedSupport by inviting our team as a user on that account. Once the invitation is accepted, we can retrieve the API keys and configure the messaging functions your practice needs. All of the steps in this guide take place inside your Twilio Console.

What It Supports

• Connecting your existing Twilio account to FXMedSupport
• User invitations at the account or subaccount level
• Role-based permissions, including Administrator access
• Roles that carry through to all subaccounts on the account
• Inviting up to 10 users at a time
• Tracking pending invitations in the Invited users tab

Before You Begin

• You must have an active Twilio account
• You must be signed in with a user that has permission to manage users on that account
• You need the FXMedSupport email address to invite, provided by your onboarding contact
• Your Twilio phone number and account should already be set up and upgraded

Step 1: Log In to Your Twilio Account

1. Open your browser and log in to the Twilio Console.
2. You will land on your Account Dashboard.
3. Check the account selector near the top left of the page and confirm the correct account is selected before continuing.

Step 2: Open Account Management

1. In the top right of the Twilio Console, click Admin to open the dropdown.
2. Under the Account Admin heading, click Account management.

ℹ️ The Admin dropdown also contains Account billing and Account trust hub under Account Admin, and Twilio Admin under Organization. For this setup you only need Account management.

Step 3: Go to Manage Users

1. In the left sidebar under Manage account, click Manage users.
2. The Manage users page opens with two tabs: Active users and Invited users.
3. The Active users tab lists everyone currently on your Twilio account, along with their Name/SID, Email, and Role(s).
4. Click the Invite user button in the top right of the page.

Step 4: Choose the Account and Role

1. The Invite users wizard opens on the Access step. You will see the three stages across the top: Access, Users, and Review.
2. Under "Are you inviting users to:" select the Accounts radio button.
3. In the "Select up to 10 accounts to invite users to" field, choose the account you want to grant access to. The selected account appears as a chip in the field.
4. Click the roles dropdown below to open the list of available roles.
5. Select Administrator from the list. A checkmark appears next to it and Administrator appears as a chip in the roles field.
6. Click Next.

⚠️ Warning: You must select the Administrator role. FXMedSupport needs administrator access to retrieve your API keys and configure the required functions. A lower permission level will block setup and the integration cannot be completed.

💡 Tip: You can assign up to 5 roles to the users you are inviting. To remove a role you selected by mistake, click the × on its chip in the roles field.

Step 5: Enter the FXMedSupport Email Address

1. The wizard moves to the Users step, headed "Who do you want to invite?"
2. Click the field labelled "Enter email addresses for the people you want to invite."
3. Type the FXMedSupport email address provided by your onboarding contact.
4. Click the plus sign at the right of the field to add the address.
5. Click Next.

ℹ️ You can invite up to 10 people at a time. To add several addresses at once, separate them with commas and then click the plus sign.

Step 6: Review and Send the Invitation

1. The wizard moves to the Review step, headed "Review your invitation."
2. Under Access, confirm the account name is correct and that the Roles line shows Administrator.
3. Under Users, confirm the line reads "You are inviting 1 user" and that the email address below it is correct.
4. If anything needs changing, click the Edit link beside either section to go back and correct it.
5. When everything is accurate, click the Invite users button at the bottom right.

ℹ️ The Access section shows how many subaccounts are included in the invitation. Account roles also apply to subaccounts, so the Administrator role carries through to every subaccount on the account. Subaccount access can be managed separately in Twilio Admin.

Step 7: Confirm the Invitation Was Sent

1. You return to the Manage users page.
2. Click the Invited users tab.
3. The email address you invited appears in the list as a pending invitation.
4. Twilio sends an email invitation to that address automatically.
5. Once the invitation is accepted, the user moves from the Invited users tab to the Active users tab with the Administrator role.
6. Let your FXMedSupport contact know the invitation has been sent so we can accept it and begin configuration.

Troubleshooting

No Admin dropdown or Account management option → Your Twilio user does not have permission to manage the account. Ask whoever owns the Twilio account to complete these steps, or to raise your permission level first.

Invite user button is missing or unavailable → The signed-in user lacks user management rights on this account. Sign in with an account owner or administrator login.

Wrong role was selected → Click the × on the role chip to remove it and select Administrator instead. If you have already reached the Review step, click Edit beside the Access section to go back.

Wrong account selected → Click the × on the account chip in the "Select up to 10 accounts" field and choose the correct account, or use Edit on the Review step.

Email address will not add → Click the plus sign at the right of the email field after typing the address. Check the address for typos before adding it.

Invited user never appears in Active users → The invitation has not been accepted yet. Pending invitations sit in the Invited users tab until the recipient accepts the emailed invitation.

Invitation email was not received → Ask the recipient to check their spam folder. If it still has not arrived, cancel the pending invitation and send it again from the Manage users page.

You need to grant access to subaccounts only → Choose the Subaccounts radio button on the Access step instead of Accounts, then select the specific subaccounts to invite the user to.
